1kg Endive
1 or 2 chopped onions
butter
1/2 kg ground beef
pepper
salt
2 tbsp chopped parsley
2 tbsp bread crumbs
1. Clean the Endive heads. Cook until tender and drain thoroughly.
2. Saute the onions and beef in butter.
3. Add pepper, salt and chopped parsley.
4. Place alternate layers of Endive and beef in a casserole dish.
5. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and dollops of butter.
6. Place the dish in a warm overn or under a pre-heated broiler until golden brown.
7. Sprinkle the dish with grated cheese (optional).
